New Integration Makes Intermap’s leading-edge GIS data available to subscribers of Blue Marble’s Global Mapper Software
DENVER (May 29, 2012) — Intermap (TSX:IMP) and Blue Marble Geographics, two of the world’s leading providers of highly accurate geospatial data solutions, announced a strategic partnership today to integrate Intermap’s NEXTMap® dataset with Blue Marble’s Global Mapper software. Users will be able to see this strategic partnership in action and the value of this integration during an online workshop scheduled for June XX when the use of digital terrain models in Global Mapper will be demonstrated live.
Developed as one of the first partner applications for Blue Marble’s Global Mapper version 13.2, the integration will provide thousands of GIS analysts access to Intermap’s NEXTMap web store 2.0 for rich, high-precision elevation data and expanded coverage data sets.
“Global Mapper has a long history of working with Intermap, and this integration allows us to reaffirm and expand our service offering by giving our users access to Intermap’s NEXTMap dataset from within our Global Mapper software,” said Patrick Cunningham, president of Blue Marble. “Overall, this partnership will enable our users from across the globe to perform location-based analysis using the most accurate terrain data available.”
Available worldwide to thousands of GIS analysts at software, oil and gas, mining, civil engineering, surveying, and technology companies, as well as governmental and university organizations, Blue Marble’s integration with Intermap’s NEXTMap dataset will help expand the company’s reach into new markets around the globe.
“GIS analysts in every industry recognize they need to have the most detailed and current elevation data across the globe right at their fingertips,” said Todd Oseth, president and CEO of Intermap. “By bringing the power of Intermap’s highly accurate and expansive NEXTMap dataset to Blue Marble’s robust Global Mapper software, we can provide users a single solution to deliver seamless, best-of-breed elevation data that’s essential for a variety of mapping and geospatial related applications, including flood mapping, emergency response, environmental risk analysis, infrastructure planning and more.”
