Gardiner, Maine — Blue Marble Geographics (www.bluemarblegeo.com)announces the release of a new version of the world’s most recognized coordinate conversion libraries, GeoCalc.NET. This fully object-oriented version of Blue Marble’s coordinate conversion libraries was created to meet the needs of cutting-edge Windows programmers. Blue Marble’s coordinate conversion technology is used worldwide by thousands of GIS analysts at software companies, universities, oil and gas companies, civil engineering, surveying, technology, enterprise GIS groups, and military organizations.
“Our developer customers know we are the most reliable source for coordinate conversion technology,” said Blue Marble Director of Sales and Marketing Kris Berglund. “But they also deserve the ease of use that comes from a fully object-oriented design tool. This version of GeoCalc provides a much needed solution for many of our customer’s complex problems, finding a drag-and-drop component used for their .NET applications.”
As an object-oriented component, GeoCalc.NET relies upon an XML data source, and may be easily added to existing .NET applications. It contains complete EPSG v6.5 support (European Petroleum Survey Group) and provides support for WKT (well-known text) definitions. This product will support all previous coordinate system classifications, in addition to direct datum shifts that do not use WGS84 as a stepping-stone. This proves most useful when European systems are required.
