Elizabeth Teret of Blue Marble will present a talk on Coordinate System Fundamentals on June 25th at the annual meeting in Portland, Maine. The Annual Meeting and Summer School will be held at the Eastland Park Hotel on June 25th. This has become a very popular event, with excellent workshops and opportunities to network with other GIS professionals. Teret, a Blue Marble Technical Support Specialist, will be presenting an introduction or refresher on the basics of geodesy. Topics to be covered include: ellipsoids, datums, and geodetic systems; cartesian and projected systems; datum transformations; and other issues of coordinate conversion.
