Gardiner, Maine (USA)— Blue Marble Geographics announced today a maintenance update to their GeoObjects software development kit. Blue Marble has been writing GIS software tools and solutions for over 10 years. Their technology is embedded in hundreds of GIS applications currently used by military, oil exploration, civil engineering, surveying, technology and corporate GIS systems.
“With this upgrade we are responding to the suggestions and needs of our developer community by implementing important new features and upgrades,” said Blue Marble Geographics Director of Business Development Patrick Cunningham. “Individuals and organizations can now fully evaluate the new trial version for an unlimited time prior to purchase. Our development tool products allow users to leverage our expertise and experience as they develop GIS and mapping solutions – rather than spending time and money reinventing the wheel.”
GeoObjects is a high-performance, 32-bit COM control for spatial data access, display, and analysis. The design of the control allows a developer to quickly create high-end GIS applications on any Windows platform. Its ability to display and interact with most industry standard vector and raster file formats makes GeoObjects a must have for any GIS developer. GeoObjects is also the core engine behind Blue Marble Geographics’ Internet mapping service BeyondGeo: www.beyondgeo.com
The new maintenance update (GeoObjects Version 3.1) comes with enhanced support for ECW, BSB, CADRG, and BIL file formats. Previous support for custom labels, Excel worksheets, and feature display and querying has also been upgraded. New functionality has been added for drawing a grid on the map, and the map control now supports existing coordinate systems from .MAP and .PRJ files. This update is complete with new VB and DELPHI sample development code.
