Blue Marble Geographics announced today that Domino’s Pizza LLC (Domino’s) based in Ann Arbor, Michigan has recently licensed their 2002 TIGER/Line Map Kit. Domino’s selected the Map Kit to assist in the documentation and analysis of physical store locations. The company will also use it to establish delivery boundaries between their corporate stores and their locally owned franchise sites. Using 2002 TIGER data allows Domino’s to display accurate street information, allowing them to continue to provide efficient and excellent pizza delivery service while also supplementing their existing internal GIS network.
“Delivery maps we used previously were paper-based, and for the last few years, Domino’s has been committed to converting all of our existing internal map data electronically, allowing us to not only quickly analyze our current locations and delivery boundaries, but also to forecast and project new locations to meet the growing demand for our product.” says Mark Leslie, Technical Development Analyst for Domino’s.
Blue Marble Geographic’s TIGER/Line® 2002 data set is in the U.S. Bureau of the Census TIGER/Line 2002 format, and may be used with any GIS software that accepts or can convert this format. TIGER/Line 2002 is the definitive, most recent GIS dataset for the United States. It includes all U.S. streets, street names and address ranges based on the USPS Delivery Sequence file, as well as Zip and Zip + 4 codes, latitude and longitude, the geographic relationship to other features, and other related information. The TIGER/Line files are public property as created from the Census Bureau’s TIGER database of geographic information. TIGER was developed at the Census Bureau to support the mapping and related geographic activities required by the decennial census and sample survey programs.
