Open Map File

Tap on the Open Map option to open the list of saved map packages.

Select a map package from the list to open it. If there is a map that is already open, it will be unloaded, and a dialog will open asking you to save any changes that have been made to the map.

Tap the back arrow at the top of the list to go back to the previous screen.

Download

Tapping on the download icon in the bottom right of Open Map screen will allow you to browse for *.GMMP files on your Android device and in file sharing apps.

Folder

The folder icon indicates the directory that is currently in use and will display the Global Mapper Mobile Package files in this location. The list of available maps in the menu displays the Global Mapper Mobile Package files (*.GMMP) located in this folder.

Note: Save and Save As operations in the Export options will save the map package to the currently active directory.

Changing the Active Directory

Note: If the Files and Media app permission to Allow management of all files is enabled, you can change the active directory by tapping the folder icon.

Change the active directory by tapping the folder icon at the top of the screen and selecting to access the Internal App-Specific storage, Internal Documents, or Internal Downloads. Sub-folders with in Documents and Downloads can be accessed by typing in the folder name in the open field at the bottom of the folder list. To create a new folder as the active directory, type the desired name of the folder and tap OK in the top right of the screen.

If an external storage device is connected, folder options External App-Specific, External Documents, and External Downloads will be available.

Options

Tap the vertical dots to the right of the package name to open a list of options for the map.

Info displays the map package information including the file name, file size of the package, and the contained layers.

Upload to File Location allows a location on the device or file sharing app to be selected as the location to upload/save the map file.

Email opens a new message in the device default email app with the selected map file attached as a Global Mapper Mobile Package file (*.GMMP).

If the open map contains unsaved changes, you will not have the options to upload or email the map. Before sharing the map, return to the Main Menu and select to Save Map to File.

Copy creates a copy of the selected map and saves it as a new file on the mobile device. Maps with unsaved changes cannot be copied.

Rename allows the selected map file to be renamed. A currently open map cannot be renamed.

Delete will delete the map file from the mobile device. It is not possible to delete the Getting Started map or the currently opened map.
