Miscellaneous Settings
These settings are found in the MISC. section of the Configuration menu.
Privacy
Enable Device Discovery - When enabled this setting makes the mobile device discoverable by the Global Mapper desktop Mobile Data Management tool for efficient transfer of data between a desktop and mobile device.
Permissions - Select this option to update application permissions.
Allow Usage Reporting - This settings keeps a log of usage data, such as what app features are used and what types of data are loaded. The log also contains error information. To improve future versions of Global Mapper Mobile anonymous information about which features are used will be sent to Blue Marble Geographics when this setting is enabled.
Error Handling
Enable Autosave - Enabled by default, autosave creates a backup Global Mapper Mobile Package file (*.GMMP) every 5 minutes if data is loaded and there are outstanding modifications. Backup file names include the date and time, and when a new backup is saved, the previous is automatically deleted. The last backup will be deleted when the project is saved or unloaded.
Error Log Detail Level - Set the level of detail recorded in the error log on a scale 0 to 4. A higher number will record a higher level of detail.
Online Sources
+ This feature requires a Pro license Online Basemap Source - Users with an active Pro Module license can use this option to customize the Online Basemap data source available on the start screen.
Projection
+ This feature requires a Pro license Projection -
- Geographic (Latitude/Longitude)
- Lambert Conformal Conic
- Mercator
- State Plane Coordinate System
- Transverse Mercator
- UTM
The Zone must be selected for the UTM and State Plane Coordinate System projections. With some projection selections the projection parameters can be edited by selecting a parameter with a tap.
Projection Notes:
- In order to use native State Plane Coordinate Systems and/or UTM projections in a Global Mapper Mobile Package file (*.GMMP), the file must be created in Global Mapper desktop version 23.1 (b072622) or newer.
- Existing map layers may be exported using the native layer projection instead of the selected projection.
- The Coordinate Info View will indicate when GPS location and crosshair location cannot be displayed in projection units when outside projection mesh bounds. Text will be in red.
