Create Lines

The line creation tool is used to create new line features. This button is available in the bottom bar of the opened map.

Manual Tap

This creates feature vertices where the screen is tapped. Double tap or click the Confirm button to complete the feature and begin editing the attributes.

GPS Tap

Tap anywhere on the screen to place a feature vertex at the current GPS location. The distance interval is set in the configuration. Use theUndo button to remove a vertex, and the Confirm button to complete the feature and begin editing the attributes.

GPS Auto Distance

This option will automatically create features using the GPS location. The distance interval is set in the configuration. A feature vertex will be created once the specified distance interval is reached from the last placed vertex. Use theUndo button to remove a vertex, and the Confirm button to complete the feature and begin editing the attributes.

With an automatic GPS create mode in use GPS Tap point create mode can be used simultaneously. When GPS Auto Distance is enabled the user will be prompted to enable or disable the option to create GPS point features when the screen is tapped while maintaining the GPS Auto Distance feature creation.

GPS Auto Time

This option will automatically record vertex points at a fixed time interval. The time interval is set in the configuration. Use theUndo button to remove a vertex, and the Confirm button to complete the feature and begin editing the attributes.

With an automatic GPS create mode in use GPS Tap point create mode can be used simultaneously. When GPS Auto Time is enabled the user will be prompted to enable or disable the option to create GPS point features when the screen is tapped while maintaining the GPS Auto Time feature creation.

Trace

Drag a finger or stylus across the screen to draw a new line feature. A yellow construction line will appear as the line is drawn.

To pause feature creation, lift the finger or stylus. You can now pan by dragging your finger across the screen. Click Resume to continue creating the line feature. Place your finger or stylus where you would like the next vertex and drag. New vertices will be added to the line in progress.

To end feature creation, tap the Confirm button, or the Create Lines button again. The New Feature Properties viewer will appear, giving you the option to choose a layer or create a layer, a feature type, feature name, etc. Click OK to finish creating the line feature.
