MrSID (Requires GeoExpress)

Global Mapper can export any loaded raster, vector, and elevation grid data sets to a 24-bit RGB MrSID file. MrSID is a compression format for high-definition imagery and visual data, frequently used in geospatial industries. MrSID is an acronym for Multi-Resolution Seamless Image Database.

Exporting a MrSID file requires GeoExpress to be installed and licensed from Extensis on the same machine as Global Mapper.

When selected, the MrSID Export Options dialog allows the user to setup the export. The dialog consists of a General options panel which allows the user to set up the pixel spacing, a Tiling panel, and an Export Bounds panel which allows the user to set up the portion of the loaded data they wish to export.
