Create Square Areas of Fixed Ground Area

This tool calculates a square based on a specified area.

To create a square area for a fixed area threshold, select the option to Create Squares of Fixed Ground Area from Create Area/ Polygon Features in the Digitizer top-level or right-click menu.

Once this option is selected the Specify Area Threshold dialog will display (below).

Once the threshold is set, the Digitizer cursor will change to Area, left- click to set the upper left hand corner of the new feature and finish the new Area Feature. The extent of the feature will also be displayed and dynamically moved with the cursor.

After clicking, the Modify Feature Info dialog will appear allowing you to setup the label, classification, drawing style, and attribution for the new feature. See Editing Feature Attributes and Drawing Styles for more details.

Once the shape is completed, the Digitizer Tool will remain in the selected shape creation mode.  Left-click to start drawing a new shape, or right-click to choose a different mode.
