Merge Data Views
The Merge
Data Views option allows the user to merge an updated view file (geodata.xvw)
with their own view file. This allows updates to be pushed out by an administrative
user, without losing user-level customizations made by the application
user. This option can be found in the main Datasource menu.
To merge view files, select a new view file to merge with the existing view file by clicking on the ellipses button in the 'Merge Data View' window. The 'Log File' option allows the user to define a path for an optional merge log file.
Ignore Top Level Objects
Check the box to enable the option to the Ignore Top Level Objects in the view file merge. Disabling this option will re-folder Top Level objects during the merge.
Merge Supplementary into Current
For any conflicting objects, the folder structure in the local view file (workspace) will take precedence over the supplementary file. For example an object that have been moved into a custom folder in the local workspace will stay there, even if the supplementary view file specifies a new location.
Merge Current into Supplementary
The organization and naming conventions in the supplementary file will take precedence over objects that have been organized in the local view file.
